Zazenkai are overnight or 1-2 day intensive Zen trainings led by students, ~7-8 times per year. With zazenkai, a typical schedule focuses on 2-3 activities (e.g., zazen, martial arts), rotated in a cycle. To prepare, students should have received basic instruction on how to sit zazen and have been sitting online or on their own for at least a month. Students should be able to sit for 45 minutes at a time without moving and understand the basic principles of hara breathing.
