Connection: Hara, the Core that Connects

This is the fifth of 6 discussions during our Connection: 49-Day Zen Training Period around theme of genuine relationship and Zen practice. This week, Ken Kushner Roshi will discuss Hara as the Core that Connects.

In Japanese, hara refers to the lower abdomen. But, it means much more than that. It connects the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of the human experience. It also connects us to other people and the entire universe. In this session, we’ll look at hara as a vital connection point, including developing and deepening hara breathing.

These discussions will occur on Sundays at 10-11 am CT (4-5 pm CET) and include opening comments from the Roshi and ample time for discussion. Register here for the 49-day training and we’ll send the link to join the Connection discussions during the 49-Day training period.

Events through Chosei Zen are donation-based and open to all regardless of ability to pay. All donations are very much appreciated and help keep our dojos running. You can donate here.
