Connection: No-mind, Present-mind

This is the fourth of 6 discussions during our Connection: 49-Day Zen Training Period around theme of genuine relationship and Zen practice. This week, Heather Scobie Roshi will discuss No-mind, Present-mind.

Mushin is a Japanese term often translated as “no-mind.” It describes a true human being that lives in the body (not the head) and in the “creative present,” moment-by-moment. When thoughts and feelings arise, no one’s there to get stuck. We’ll explore practical exercises for being present and discuss why it’s relevant for practice and relationships.

These discussions will occur on Sundays at 10-11 am CT (5-6 pm CET) and include opening comments from the Roshi and ample time for discussion. Register here for the 49-day training and we’ll send the link to join the Connection discussions during the 49-Day training period.

Events through Chosei Zen are donation-based and open to all regardless of ability to pay. All donations are very much appreciated and help keep our dojos running. You can donate here.
